January electro chart
Oldskool rave stabs and Amen breaks are the new hotness in the electro scene at the moment – here’s a prime example from Heckle which takes its cues from SL2′s “DJs Take Control”.
Scott Anselmo and Sergio Armes – Terminal Funk
Nice latin breakdown here before the epic synth gets launched. Good mixture of different styles to keep it interesting – could even be used to transition to a trance set if you were feeling so inclined.
Emika – Double Edge [GeRM Remix]
Surprisingly commercial for a Ninja Tune track but what a chorus! Definitely a hands-in-the-air anthem.
Denis Naidanow feat. Tyree Cooper – Wonderland
More oldskool sounds, this time house master Tyree Cooper (the producer!) gets a chunky remix from Germany’s Denis Naidanow . You’ve gotta love the classic house sound getting brought up to date with the sharper production you get from modern kit.
Turns up the emotion a few notches with some gigantic trance-style breakdowns and builds.
Like what you’re hearing? Did I miss your favourite anthem? Let me know in the comments.
